Just a quick note to say that I prob may not be able to do a timely update on next's week episode summary for Buzzer Beat because I am heading to Seoul for holiday and the video prob wont be out by the time i board the plane.
My korean friend has extended his invitation to be my local guide on his return trip and i figured why not with free accomodation thrown in. Ha....
If anyone has any great ideas or must not missed places for me to explore in Seoul since it will be my first trip there, will be great to hear from u since i may have some slots to be by myself....i am soo excited now... i can hardly sleep.... ;]

Ahh...you're going to seoul...I really envy you ^^ for always going around the world to many beautiful places. Really wish that someday I'm lucky enough to have a job that could take me around the world too and of course have many friends from around the world just like you.
Hope that you'll enjoy your trip (which I'm really sure you gonna do it ^_^)
I've been to Seoul before, but at that time my love for Korean culture or should I say my interest for Korean drama and music is not as much as now, so It didn't give a deep impression. Well..for me, if I got a chance to comeback, I wanna challenge all the Korea food that I could only see on the drama, and maybe go to the popular drama filming site which has been used as a tourism object now. When I when there it's an era of winter sonata, so you know...all I can see was Yon sama's face around the town XD, the filming site itself, the nami island is not as beautiful as in the camera.
Watch this to make Seoul "infinitely yours"

Have fun :)
Since you're heading to Seoul. I assume that you might not able to blog next week. So..I just gonna say an advance "goodbye" to you now.
Next week I'll go to Beijing and stay there for around one year. Well, I guess you know about "the great firewall" in China which don't let you access into many sites including blogspot. I'm afraid that I can't visit your blog during this time except if I find a way how to work it with proxy, but proxy is surely annoying and sometimes doesn't let you to leave a message.
In case this thing happen, I wanna say that I'm going to miss you and your blog. It's been a great time for me to read what you wrote about drama review or even about your trip, cause it's really fun.
I hope that you'll still write many wonderful things on your blog and may everything going well too in your life and your job.
It's a pleasure for me to know someone like you.
best regard,
Cindy ( my real name ^_^)
hey cindy,
i was really really touched when i read your message, it meant a lot to me because i too have always enjoyed all the online interactions with u on the drama and stuff as well... u have been a great supporter and it keeps me going to know there is someone happy reading this blog.
so...sob sob...i know its sounds silly but i will positively be missing your presence for sure.
however, i am sure it will be a very fruitful stay in beijing and you prob have lotsa fun. my friend is living and working in beijing now, she has a whale of a time there. so i am happy for u while sad that i possibly wont see u online here anymore...[till u return home at least ha]
tell u what.
if u like, we can swop email and still stay in touch. i hate to lose a 'fren' ^_^) plus i really to hear all about ur stay in china too.
so here it is, u can email to:
me.nomad at yahoo.com,
then i will reply to u with my proper email ;] how's that?
ps; not gonna leave my real email here in case i get spammed. haaaaa
:) i was in Korea 2 weeks ago, could almost have met you lol. and this week i was in "Ito" at some friends place (a Japanese city just south of Tokyo (2h30 approximatively)... so almost no Internet nor drama :( but there was a beautiful and warm sea ;)
It's so great to be able to stay for free at friends place, you are really right to go this way, next time i'll go to singapour ;) in 1 year :( when i'll be back in japan.
anyway, how long are you staying in korea? i stayed 6 days and it was really too short.
thirst thing to do when you arrive is to go to tourist information center and ask for the book "Seoul's best 100". it's not really a book, just tourist guide (with metro map inside, useful), and obviously it's free.
i went to all the places in "historical part" with friends and after i just followed them to different places they fought interesting.
for example "seoul plaza" (city hall station) (and it's just near the historical deoksugung palace). i'm sure your friend know already all this anyway. there is 4 others famous historical places and i'm sure your friend'll show you gyeongbokgung palace... the most famous one i think. i'm not going to explain all the others place, too many lol, if you need just post a comment asking for advice :)
And don't forget Namsan tower, famous tower with beautiful view on Seoul... and there are also lots of lock let by lovers :) really a lot (i'm not sure "lock" is the appropriate word...you'll understand what i mean when you see it)
Obviously i wanted to see drama places ;) and there is a perfect site: "korea sparkling"
After you search the drama you want (i did "snow queen" for example ;)...
"http://english.visitkorea.or.kr/enu/CU/CU_EN_8_5_1_21.jsp" and there are all the film locations.
and with a visa card you can have a lot of discount ;)
to buy gifts you can go to "insa-dong" (for example).
all of this is well explained in the tourist guide I talked about in the beginning. And if you check on internet for drama places you'll see all you have to see.
(but dramas are mainly filmed outside of seoul, in the countryside...so i didn't see much).
i'll go again with friends and this time i'll go in the countryside also... for "winter sonata" drama places for example ;)
good luck and good trip :)
PS for Cindy : Proxy are quite easy, i have friends in china too and they hopefully have no problem to see whatever they want on internet. In 1 year i'm sure you'll find some chinese to explain you ;)
hey hikari,
thanks for all the tips and info..really really useful. save me from reading all the travel guides. haaaa haaa. the best part was the toruist info part, that is definietly something i must grab.
am gonna be there for only a week, so will be pretty tight i guess. no idea what my friend wanna do yet.. but the palace part sounds interesting so definitely gonna head there. wanted to check out the dmz area as well but not sure if it will be a hassle...shall play by ear.
thanks for the wishing...
i am soooo ready for living and breathing korea. haaaa
